Hello! well this is another old picture, but in this teach as I begin my ideas down to the final artwork.
NOTE: I teach my way and process forms with which they work, not from books or something, it's just HOW IT WORKS FOR ME, MY EXPERIENCE AND WHAT I LEARNED FROM OTHER ARTISTS, so I hope some of this will be useful someday.
I first make small boxes, horizontal or vertical depending on the orientation will be in the picture, sometimes just write the ideas or words of things I want to see in the scene to illustrate. defining these early ideas start with small drawings
In this case wanted a snowman and a girl, so I start with drawings fast and every idea that comes to my mind, to choose the best composition. (Best to put on paper your ideas until you find the best visualize what you want and you get that idea working alone.)
decided in this case a horizontal composition, and taking an overview of all composition, begin to put the elements to be on the scene in this case: trees, snowman and the girl doing some action.
then defined the elements of the scene, for better and clearer idea of \u200b\u200bthe elements at this stage let other ways to make them in photoshop like the leaves on the trees.
For the character I did different faces in different positions to achieve the expression that looked like this was a simple picture did not do much exploration in search of character but in future post with more complex designs makes more emphasis on this stage.
